Anguilla Culinary Experience returns with flavour, creativity and island charm

The island’s signature food and wine festival, Anguilla Culinary Experience, returns this week with five days of world-class flavours and cultural flair.

Bringing together top chefs from Anguilla and around the globe, the fourth annual event will showcase local traditions, fresh ingredients, and exceptional dining experiences.

The festival kicks off tomorrow, 30 April, with an opening party which will see Malliouhana Resort’s culinary team present a selection of island-inspired dishes.

Headlining the ‘Taste the Magic of Malliouhana’ event is culinary director Kerth Gumbs – winner of BBC’s Great British Menu and a judge on MasterChef Junior.

Joining him are executive chef Wilson Macedo, head chef Kelston ‘Sweets’ Connor, cultural ambassador Chesney Hughes, mixologist Taffy Hodge-Roland and chef Glynn ‘Tim’ Franklin.

Other events and activities throughout the week include johnny cake making, a rum crawl, ceviche making, wine tasting, and plenty of opportunities to taste delicious cuisine.

The festival will finish on 3 May with a free family Sunday fun day at Leon’s at Malliouhana in Meads Bay featuring music by Vere Musiq, hand-crafted tropical cocktails and food from Kelston ‘Sweets’ Connor.

A portion of proceeds from the festival will go towards educational programmes for trainee culinary and hospitality professionals and the Anguilla National Culinary Team.
