Anguilla ranked one of Travel and Leisure readers’ top Caribbean islands

Anguilla has been rated number three in a list of Travel and Leisure readers’ top 25 Caribbean islands.

It came in just behind Dominica and Cuba, which ranked first and second in the online magazine’s 2024 World’s Best Awards survey.

On its website, Travel and Leisure says Anguilla’s fantastic beaches and warm, welcoming locals were a through-line of reader feedback.

One wrote: “The beaches on Anguilla have some of the most clear, beautiful water I’ve ever seen,” while another said: “It’s remote, but truly a paradise to relax and read a book.”

Multiple readers echoed that the island is a paradise, Travel and Leisure said, with one praising the white beaches and clear, blue water, saying: “Once you visit Anguilla you don’t want to go home!”

Every year, Travel and Leisure asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe – to share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more.

More than 186,000 readers completed the 2024 survey and more than 700,000 votes were cast.

Islands in the Caribbean as well as Bermuda were specifically rated on the criteria of natural attractions and beaches, activities and sights, restaurants and food, people and friendliness, and value.

For each characteristic, respondents could choose a rating of excellent, above average, average, below average, or poor. The final scores are averages of these responses.

Dominica received a total reader score of 92.47 out of 100, Cuba received 90.61 and Anguilla got 09.02. Also in the top five were St Lucia and St John in the US Virgin Islands.
