Dog rescue group offers luxury villa getaway as fundraising raffle prize

Fly To Freedom Dog Rescue is giving supporters the chance to win a five-night stay for up to six guests at a luxury villa in Anguilla as the grand prize in its fundraising raffle.

Entries start at US$50 for 10 tickets, with bigger donations unlocking even more chances to win the getaway in Villa Okeanos on Shoal Bay East from 23 to 28 May, 2026.

The United States-based non-profit has already raised $8,000 through the contest, which funded the flight of nine dogs from Anguilla to new foster and forever homes in the US on 8 May.

However, those funds have now been spent, and the organisation needs to raise another $8,000 to transport ten more dogs on a cargo plane on 21 June.

The money will pay for the dogs’ flight costs, travel kennels, collars, leashes, transport and handling fees, as well as customs and boarding expenses.

Organisation founder Leigh Fazzina said: “Every day, healthy, loving dogs – known as Potcakes or Coconut Retrievers – sit in an overcrowded shelter in Anguilla facing euthanasia if they are not adopted locally.

“Not because they’re broken but because there aren’t enough resources to save them.

“That’s where Fly To Freedom Dog Rescue comes in – to get them out of the shelter, off of Anguilla, and to the United States into foster homes and eventually loving forever homes.”

She emphasised that this vital work depends on support and urged the public to take part in the raffle.

“One lucky winner will enjoy paradise. Many more dogs will get a second chance at life,” she said.
