The Executive Council has appointed the committee responsible for planning, coordinating and executing this year’s Anguilla Summer Festival.
The 13 members bring extensive experience and a passion for developing the culture of Anguilla to one of the island’s most anticipated celebrations.
Their roles will ensure a diverse range of events highlight Anguilla’s heritage and offer an unforgettable experience for both participants and visitors.
A press release from the Department of Youth and Culture named the members, who were officially appointed on 10 April.
They are:
- Fitzroy ‘Briggy’ Tomlinson – chair
- Corwyn ‘Bookie’ Carty – deputy chair/street logistics
- Nordisia Lake – finance comptroller
- Tiffany Rogers-Carty – Department of Youth and Culture representative
- Melanie Mathew – secretary
- Romare Kelsick – Talented Teen Pageant
- Amber Woodley – Miss Anguilla Pageant
- Erica Edwards – Prince and Princess Pageant
- O’Leary Richardson – marketing
- Roy ‘Drak’ Bryson – Senior Calypso Competition
- Likerah Adams – Anguilla Boat Racing Association representative
- Katrina Richardson – Leeward Islands Calypso Competition
- Alysha Carty – youth representative
Social development minister Shellya Rogers-Webster said the ministry is excited to welcome the members of the new committee.
She said they all bring a mix of experience, creativity and youthful energy, and added “we look forward to the invaluable contributions they will make”.
“The Anguilla Summer Festival is a cornerstone of our community’s cultural and social calendar,” she added.
“We are confident that these individuals will help make it a positive and unforgettable experience for all.”
