The Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF) issued 56 tickets and gave several verbal warnings for various traffic offences during a day-long road operation.
Officers conducted a series of traffic checks across locations throughout the island on Friday, 4 April.
The most commonly issued tickets were for driving an unlicensed vehicle, with other offences including driving without a front number plate affixed and with no identification mark.
Vehicles with obscured licence plates were also stopped, as well as drivers who failed to comply with traffic signage or were caught exceeding the speed limit.
“The RAPF reminds all vehicle owners that proper registration and licensing of vehicles is both a legal requirement and a public safety matter,” a police press release said on 8 April.
It added that vehicle owners with a registration number ending in 4, must complete the mandatory inspection and licensing process at the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, Utilities and Housing.
