A new board of governors has been appointed to the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School for a three-year term.
The board was appointed by order of the Executive Council on 8 January, as confirmed in a press release from the Department of Education on 15 January.
The board includes representatives from various sectors: Ingrid Lake for education, Lindsay K Richardson for religious leadership, Chris Richardson for business, and Merline Barrett for law.
Dwayne Adams serves as the staff representative, while Senaiya Richardson is the student representative. The parent representative has yet to be announced.
Principal Trevor Hodge, by virtue of his position, is an ex-officio, non-voting member of the board. Similarly, chief education officer Bren Romney may attend board meetings but is not eligible to vote.
The board’s responsibilities and functions are broad, the press release said.
Further details on the scope and operations of the board of governors can be found in the Education Act as at 31 December, 2022, by clicking here.
