A video showcasing the inspiring stories of five Anguillians with disabilities was published online this week for International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The five-minute video was produced by Gender Affairs Anguilla and the Department of Social Development with support from the Department of Youth and Culture.
It features the stories of Randy Hodge, Delano Mussington, Everette Sams, Corinne Richardson, and Metesseo Harrigan.
“Their journeys remind us of the power of diversity and the importance of creating a world that embraces everyone,” a Facebook post from Gender Affairs Anguilla said.
“Let’s commit to breaking barriers, championing inclusion, and celebrating the leadership of persons with disabilities in shaping a brighter tomorrow.”
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is promoted by United Nations and has been celebrated every year on 3 December since 1992.
This year’s theme is ‘Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future’.
