Three men sustained gunshot wounds and another person was injured during a “shooting incident” in South Hill, police have said.
Officers of the Royal Anguilla Police Force responded to a report of gunshots on Back Street at about 8pm on 30 June.
“As of now, three male individuals have sustained gunshot injuries, and one other person was injured during the incident,” they wrote in a Facebook post.
“We extend a speedy recovery to all those affected by this senseless act.”
Police have asked anyone with information to get in touch.
“Were you in or around the Back Street, South Hill, area at the time of the incident?” the post said.
“Did you witness anything or have any information that could aid our investigation?
“Please come forward and speak with us. Your input is vital to our efforts.”
‘Very vigilant’
In a government press conference on 1 July, Premier Ellis Webster said he wanted to reach out to those who were injured in the shooting incident and hope they have “rapid healing”.
“…and that God would continue to look down upon us and help to spare us from this increasing gun violence and gun crime,” he said.
He said he had met with the Commissioner of Police Robert Clark on “multiple occasions” following the incident, adding: “We just had a conversation up to just before I came on to this.”
“I know the commissioner and his team, are very, very vigilant in working with this and also to prevent these types of incidents from happening,” he said.
“I am happy with what is being done by the Royal Anguilla Police Force.”
