Police found a gun and 161 rounds of ammunition in a home in The Valley after a person of interest fled from them this week.
Tactical unit officers were on patrol in the north of the area on 1 July when they encountered and engaged them, a statement on Facebook from the Royal Anguilla Police Force said.
“The individual managed to flee to a nearby house and subsequently escaped,” it continued, adding that a search warrant was then executed on the premises.
During the search, officers recovered one Glock 26 pistol, three magazines, and a total of 161 rounds of .762, .40, and 9mm caliber ammunition.
At the time of the statement, no one had been charged, but investigations were ongoing, it said.
