The Anguilla Football Association (AFA) has appointed Ewan Gunter as head coach of the Senior Men’s National Team and U-17 pathway manager.
Gunter brings a strong background in elite coaching as well as player development, having worked closely with the AFA since November 2024 through FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme (TDS).
In the role, he identified and supported promising young players and helped to establish clearer pathways between youth development and the national team environment.

His work has also contributed to the continued development of the AFA’s talent programme and its progress towards achieving Talent Academy status.
Gunter holds a BSc in football coaching and performance and has an extensive track record within professional football environments, an AFA press release said on 16 September.
Originally from Wales, he achieved his UEFA A Licence while still studying at university, making him one of the youngest UEFA A Licence coaches in the country at the time.
His coaching experience includes time with professional clubs Swansea City AFC and Newport County AFC, where he worked on developing young players in high-performance and academy environments.
Throughout his coaching career, Gunter has worked with academy players who have progressed to professional contracts and gone on to represent their countries at youth international level.
“His continued progression as a coach, coupled with his work in Anguilla, reflects a strong commitment to long-term player and programme development,” the AFA said.
As U-17 pathway manager, Gunter will oversee a key stage of player development, helping young players progress towards higher-performance national team environments and senior international football.
As head coach of the Senior Men’s National Team he will bring greater alignment between the AFA’s youth development programme and senior national team.
“The Anguilla Football Association views the appointment as an important step in its continued commitment to developing football at every level,” the AFA said.
“By connecting the work being undertaken through the TDS, the U-17 pathway and the Senior Men’s National Team, the AFA aims to establish a more unified and sustainable development structure for Anguilla’s most promising players.
