18N63W Inc: Building pathways to higher education for Anguilla’s students

A new non-profit is working to expand access to higher education for young people in Anguilla through financial support and guidance.

18N63W Inc was founded in 2025 by Lariscia Julion who is driven by a passion for giving back to the island and a belief that education can change the trajectory of lives.

Julion, who was born and raised in Anguilla, told Anguilla Focus the organisation was inspired by both personal experiences and a desire to strengthen her home communities.

The non-profit’s name is itself a deliberate marker. 18N63W refers to Anguilla’s geographical coordinates, chosen to keep its mission firmly rooted in the island.

Julion, who works as a quality management system manager in Texas, said it serves as “a grounding symbol of home and heritage” and guides its purpose of investing in the people of Anguilla.

The organisation’s focus is on supporting students who may lack the financial resources or guidance to pursue higher education.

A major milestone came during the first year with the award of the non-profit’s first US$5,000 scholarship to Kordell Smith for tuition assistance and supplies.

“As the inaugural recipient, he exemplified 18N63W Inc’s core values – determination, academic excellence and a desire to make a difference,” Julion said.

“Kordell’s graduation with honours from the University of Buckingham with a computer science degree testifies to the power of investing in education.”

Since then, the organisation has expanded its reach through initiatives such as the Anguilla Day Scholarship Drive, bringing together donors and supporters to invest directly in students’ futures.

To help deliver on its mission, the non-profit is supported by a board of directors based on the island, with expertise spanning finance, law, engineering and business.

“Together, they provide strategic direction, governance and a shared commitment to ensuring the organisation’s mission is carried out with integrity and impact,” Julion said.

Looking ahead, 18N63W Inc is focused on scaling its impact, including plans for a university coaching programme and new partnerships to expand opportunities and ensure sustainability.

At its core, the organisation is positioning itself as a long-term investment in Anguilla’s future – rooted in place, guided by purpose and driven by education.

“18N63W Inc is more than a non-profit, it is a growing movement grounded in purpose, leadership and community,” Julion said.
