The Department of Sports has officially opened Anguilla’s first outdoor gym for public use at Ronald Webster Park in The Valley.
The facility features a shoulder press, upright bicycle, hand bike, power pull, elliptical bike, ab shaper bench, gym bike, knee raise, hand bike, leg extension and upper body inclusive.

It explained that the initiative aligns with its strategic priority to promote health, wellness and physical activity through targeted campaigns and meaningful partnerships.
“It is our intention to expand the outdoor gym initiative to other communities across the island as additional funding opportunities become available,” the department said.

“The facility is intended for public use, and we encourage all residents of the Anguilla to take advantage of this space.”
The outdoor gym was funded by Liberty Co-operative Credit Union, and executed by the government in collaboration with Claus’ Construction.
“Their dedication and collaboration ensured that the project was completed in record-breaking time,” the sports department said.
Speaking at the launch, sports minister Cardigan Connor said the facility’s social benefits would reach all of Anguilla’s athletes, both professional and recreational.
“To have a facility like this available to them free of charge and of high quality, I think it’s great,” he said.
