One in custody, two bailed over firearm and ammunition charges

One person has been remanded into custody and two others released on bail after being charged with possession of firearm components and ammunition.

Empress Hall, Shakeem Hodge and Aliquoy Gumbs appeared at the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 19 August for their bail hearing.

Hall, 20, from South Hill was granted bail in the amount of EC$60,000 and is scheduled to reappear before the court on 11 November.

Hodge, 18, from Rey Hill was also granted $60,000 bail and will also reappear in court on 11 November, according to a statement from the Royal Anguilla Police Force.

Meanwhile, Gumbs, 18, from The Farrington was remanded to His Majesty’s Prison until 26 August.

He had previously been released from prison on 15 August after being arrested for the offence of obstruction on 8 July.

The three were arrested in The Valley on 15 August, initially over the offence of ‘taking of conveyance’.

They were then charged on 18 August with Possession of Firearm Components and Ammunition.
