South Hill man, 49, charged with GBH after altercation at The Strip

Cleston Adams from South Hill has been charged with three offences following an altercation at The Strip that left another man injured.

In a press release on 13 October, the Royal Anguilla Police Force said the incident that took place at about 8pm on Friday, 10 October.

The injured man was taken to a medical facility where he was treated and later discharged, police said, adding: “While the injury was serious, it was not life-threatening.”

Following investigations into the incident, Adams was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm, being armed with an offensive weapon, and causing a breach of the peace.

The 49-year-old man appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on 13 October and was granted bail in the sum of EC$40,000 with one surety.

However, Adams was unable to secure the surety and was remanded to His Majesty’s Prison in The Valley awaiting further proceedings.

“The Royal Anguilla Police Force continues its commitment to maintaining public safety and ensuring that all incidents of violence are thoroughly investigated,” the press release said.
