The government has confirmed that plans are moving forward for a new 32-room boutique hotel named Rendezvous Dune Club on Rendezvous Beach.
The project also includes three private five-bedroom luxury villas with swimming pools located just west of Bankie Banx’s Dune Preserve.
Planning minister Kyle Hodge met with one of the lead developers of the proposed project on 10 November, he revealed in a government press conference later that day.

“They are a long time visitors, lovers of Anguilla, who just wanted to buy a home, build a villa, and have that for his vacation purposes, and also to be able to rent it from time to time,” he said.
“He would have purchased some property in Rendezvous, and based on the size of the parcel of land, there are requirements to be followed.
“You can’t own more than a half acre of beachfront property without it being some form of tourism development product.”
Hodge said the developer met with the “relevant technocrats” and was informed that based on the size of land he purchased, he needed to build a minimum of a 32-room boutique hotel.
“So we are working through the MoU and we are working with planning to ensure that we have the correct room density that matches the acreage that was that was bought,” the minister added.
Hodge said drawings for the three-storey property are complete and ready to be submitted to the Department of Planning, and the memorandum of understanding is “just about ready” to be finalised.
“Once those two things are done, then he would move on to breaking ground,” he added.
The minister explained that the lead does not have a history of hotel management and will be looking for a management company to run the property once it is complete.
